Health and Safety

Movable walls need regular planned maintenance by an accredited company.

Accordial is an accredited company and offers the most comprehensive service packages for movable walls in the UK.

We are the UK's only approved contractor to inspect, service and repair Alco Systems and Brockhouse Systems wall partitions.

We provide a free log book with every service to ensure you are health and safety compliant. We will also provide training to all of your staff as part of any service visit so that they are competently trained to use the system.

The following law and regulations apply to movable walls and sliding doors:

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992
  • The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
  • The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

An 'at a glance' version detailing specifics of what, by law, companies must at least adhere to can be downloaded here.

Under current health and safety law and regulation, if you do not maintain or service your movable wall systems, you are failing to exercise a duty of care to your staff or those in its vicinity.

Should an accident occur, the injured person/s could start civil action against you where you could be prosecuted and damages may be awarded.

Our Commitment to You

We use an independent consultant to review our Health and Safety policy annually to ensure we conform to all the latest laws and legislations.

We were the first movable wall service provider in the UK to have been awarded the SAFE Contractor certificate. We understand that our customers have a legal obligation to ensure that all external contractors and service providers are competent, and you can trust Accordial to operate in a safe and professional manner.

We can supply you with a method statement for your Health and Safety records and our engineers will complete a dynamic risk assessment form, approved by the HSE, prior to any work being undertaken.
